In a civilize country, Buhari would've been impeached for gross abuse of national constitution - Chief Nduka Eya

Following the gross abuse of the Nation's constitution under the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari, Chief Nduka Eya, former Secretary-General Of The Ohanaeze Ndigbo And A Commissioner For Education In The Old Anambra State, says that Buhari has committed a lot of impeachable Offences which he said he deserved to be impeached if it were in a civilize country. Nduka stated this in an interview with New Telegraph.

Excerpt:

APC was a gang-up party urgently created to grab power

Let’s start from the basics. APC as a party was a gang-up to urgently created to grab power. And when they grabbed power they now started sorting themselves out. That is the difference between them and the PDP. When the election was over I said PDP is as good or as bad as APC depending on who is calling the short.

They grabbed power and in the bid to run the power they found they had no preparation. First of all, there is a constitution that recognises federal character, which means that the first 11 of Adamawa State where the insurgency has been devastating can come to a football field with an Anambra first 11 and Anambra first 11 will give them 25 goals to 0 but they are still the first 11 of Adamawa and you cannot ignore them in a federal situation. That is the bottom line.

That means it’s like admission, my son scored 430 points in JAMB and his brother, a different Nigerian somewhere in Nasarawa scores 100. And you said because my brother scored 400 you admit everybody without anybody from Nasarawa? That is not federal character.

So, Mr. President is already breaking the constitution, which he swore to protect. You can see the lopsidedness. The governors are not saying because they are APC governors, they are saying because it affects them.

What Mr. President should have done, as a matter of fact, representatives of states are not on political parties, so my governor (Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi) who is PDP, I expect that the president should say, ‘governor we are taking ambassadors who will serve Nigeria, who do you think will represent your state?’.

Not just APC governors. But because of parochial nature, we don’t follow due process.

Buhari should've consult governors in making his appointments

No, what I’m saying, he comes from a state; the man is representative of the state, not of the APC. You see the difference? So in making the appointment of who represents the state, he should consult the governor. And the governor naturally will give him a PDP man, because PDP and APC and other parties rule this country. Why must Mr. President sit in Abuja and decide the man that Enugu should bring without reference to his governor?

Buhari should recognized that he is no longer a military ruler

Yes, but I’m telling you that APC states are also complaining rightly. If they are in opposition they would have shouted it in the radio, but they protested to their president. Muhammadu Buhari should recognise if he has not recognised after 18 months that he is no longer a military Head of State.

He is a civilian, an ex-soldier who is wearing a civilian gab in a democratic system and there are rules and regulations for democratic system.

In a  civilized  country Buhari would have been impeached

Because of that manner that they came into power, they are not following due process. Let me give you another example, once upon a time, Mr. President made a proclamation according to constitution; the senate will be inaugurated on such and such a day at 10am, that is constitutional power, he made that pronouncement.

At 10am on that day, some senators who want to obey the rule of law assembled in the senate and did their thing which all of us now know that it was possible for the senate to have a ruling party as president and opposition party as deputy according to the constitution.

But some leaders of the APC went elsewhere outside the chambers of the senate, where the constitution said election should be held, on the floor of the house, to elect a senate president they want to impose on the house. It didn’t work and so, to teach them a lesson they started the prosecution that has now been withdrawn.

Saraki will have to go to Code of Conduct Tribunal as if he lost his governorship at the time of that decision.

Everything is political, so I ask question, would Saraki have been sent to the CCT if they did the will of APC? The answer is no. Let them stop playing politics, Nigerians are wiser now and they can analyse situations.

Buhari said, ‘I belong to nobody, I belong to everybody’, but from his appointment and body language, we now know where he belongs. Every Nigerian knows where he belongs. That is a rudiment that the president who swore to protect our constitution is defiling our constitution with impunity.

Nigerians should rise up to the occasion. In civilized countries, the man will put up a resignation. These are impeachable offences.

Has it come to that?

Yes, it has come to that because the man deserves it, it is the compromise that we have had in the past that is putting us in this mess, that is why the DSS can go and break the doors because of the level we have reached.

So, the president is defiling our constitution, ignoring our federal character with impunity and he has no right even as president to do that.
