The Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, at the weekend, charged groups and religious organisations in Nigeria to join hands with President Muhammadu Buhari for the success of the “change begins with me” campaign.
He gave this charge in his message to the opening of the maiden national conference of the Muslim Media Watch Group of Nigeria (MMWGN), held in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital.
The minister, who was represented by the Director of National Orientation Agency (NOA) in Kwara State, Mr Felix Olowookere, said the change begins with me project cannot be actualised by the president alone.
Mohammed, therefore, advised religious groups and organisations to always ensure they propagate the good ideals enshrined in the “change begins with me” campaign project to achieve an egalitarian society.
He said the campaign was aimed at re-orientating Nigerians on the need to shun ethnicity and allow honesty, patriotism, dedication, selflessness and other good virtues be their guiding principle.
The minister also praised the foresight of the Muslim Media Watch Group of Nigeria for its propagation of Islam and maintenance of peace among the people in the country.
