The vice chairman of the Senate committee on power, Senator Bukar Mustapha (APC, Katsina North) said yesterday that President Muhammadu Buhari has laid the foundation for the country’s prosperity.
In an interview with newsmen at his office, he said the success recorded by the present administration in the fight against insurgency has returned the country to the path of progress.
“By this time last year, the country was tense because of the level of insecurity, but now, we have relative peace. The foundation has been laid by this administration for many other things to take place in the country, “he said.
He however stressed the need for security agencies to step up their intelligence gathering mechanism to address other security challenges facing the country.
