Orji Kalu, the former Abia state governor and chieftain of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, has said President Muhammadu Buhari has 10million votes behind him.
He stated this when he appeared on Channels TV on Sunday evening. He stated that the President will not want an automatic ticket adding that Mr Buhari will welcome other contestants at the APC primaries.
” He will not like to get an automatic ticket. He is willing to accept challenges from other contestants, he’s a true democrat to the heart. He has 10 million votes behind him and he’s not threatened. It use to be 12 million but I remove 2million.”
On the alleged marginalisation of the South-East by Mr Buhari, Kalu said the President has done better than all other Presidents as regards infrastructure and appointments.
“Look at the South-East roads, he’s building them today, I don’t like to say we are marginalised but you can see the issue is being addressed”.
Speaking on the resignation of former Vice President Atiku from the APC, Kalu said Mr Atiku is in the best position to explain why he left the APC.
He equally denied joining the APC due to his alleged corruption trial by the EFCC.
” I’m not a thief, I don’t speak like one and I don’t behave like one,” he said.
Reacting to the whereabouts of IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu, Kalu said
He equally urged Mr Buhari to be a party man and keep tab on the daily activities of the party.
