Osinbajo held first economic council meeting



Acting President Yemi Osinbajo on Thursday morning presided over a meeting of the National Economic Council (NEC).

The meeting, scheduled for 11.00 am, held inside the Council Chambers of the Aso Rock Presidential Villa in Abuja.

It is the first meeting of the National Economic Council this year.

The council, chaired by the vice president, has the responsibility of guarding the president on economic policies.

It comprises the 36 state governors and the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) as well as other Presidency officials and heads of relevant federal agencies whose portfolios revolve around the economy.
