National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief John Odige-Oyegun Wednesday stated that the sufferings of Nigerians was not acceptable to the party.
The party chairman stated this when the leadership of the Senate led by the Senate President, Senator Bukola Saraki met with the National Working Committee of the party at the APC National Headquarters in Abuja.
Oyegun, who had decried the strange relationship of the Senate and the National Leadership of APC stated: “More than that l don’t think l need to say at this stage, the economy is tough as a result people are going through hard times and it is certainly not acceptable.
“What the public is looking up to us they don’t see. They are all concentrated, determined, focused on programmes, issues that will ameliorate not just the economy but the conditions of living of the ordinary Nigerian.
“So, l want to once again welcome you, for answering our call and l hope we will deepen this interaction and that the public of this nation will start seeing a new relationship, a new party, a new National Assembly and indeed a focused and committed governance.”
He called on the Senate leadership to understand that the National Assembly, the Executive and the party leadership are of the same party. According to him, the gulf created by the strange relationship with the leadership of the party and the Senate is one major thing that is affecting governance and the people and it has led to negative performance of the party and the government.
