The suspended deputy national publicity secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Timi Frank, says the party’s national chairman, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, can divide the party with his comments that suggest that those behind the mega opposition platform cannot threaten the party.
Frank, in a statement in Abuja, said Oyegun should embark on a genuine reconciliation with the aggrieved APC members instead of being “busy talking of what can divide APC leadership the more.”
He described the comments as reckless, saying “such arrogant words from leader of a ruling party may anger Nigerians against the president.”
He said it was similar remarks made by the Alhaji Bamanga Tukur-led Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) that affected the fortunes of the party.
He said the APC national chairman should stop deceiving Nigerians on the claim that he had met with some national leaders of the party against the move.
Chief Oyegun had said in an interview in Benin that the APC was not threatened by any proposed mega party.
