The South East Based Coalition of Human Rights Organisations (SBCHROs) has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to end what it described as “presidential violence and dictatorship” being witnessed in Nigeria under his administration.
The coalition which comprises the Anambra State branch of the Civil Liberties Organisation (CLO), Centre for Human Rights and Peace Advocacy (CHRPA), Human Rights Club, Forum for Justice, Equity and Defence of Human Rights (FJEDHR), the Society Advocacy Watch Project (SPAW), Anambra Human Rights Forum (AHRF), South East Good Governance Forum (SGGF), International Solidarity for Peace and Human Rights Initiative (INTERSOLIDARITY) and Igbo Ekunie Initiative.
In a statement the group issued in Onitsha Monday, the coalition said that it joined other Nigerians and the international community in thanking God for sparing the precious life of Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari and facilitating his quick recovery from a diagnosed ill-health or sickness and at the sametime calling on him to show regard for the right of the people and sanctity of human lives just as the Almighty God has continued to be graceful to his life.
