The Chairman of Northern Elders Council, NEC, Tanko Yakassai, said that politicians in the country are not sincere.
Speaking during a chat with the Vanguard, he said Nigerians are in trouble today because they were deceived by the ruling party.
He said, "One of the major problems we are having today is that political parties thrive on deceit. For instance, this government came on the slogan of ‘Change.’ They never explained what their Change meant: Change from what to what? It is sad that Nigerians voted for what they don't know nor understand.
"That is why we are in trouble today. For over one and a half years now, this government is still struggling to deliver on it's promises to Nigerians. But if they had articulated and understood what change they wanted and how to go about it, they could have achieved much, not minding other distractions. One and half years is a lot in the life of a government of four years," h said.
