The opposition figure has sent a save our soul (SOS)appeal to the inspector general of police,Ibrahim Idris Kpotum to caution or remove the state police commissioner ,Abdullahi tsafe over meddlesomeness in the on going kogi workers screening by clamping down workers classified as"ghost" in police custody.
A statement in Lokoja, Okai Austin accused the police helmsman of compromising the integrity of the force in connivance with the state government to do its bidding which denied workers salaries for over ten months.
Okai Austin has observed with keen interest workers with laminated certificates for safety and other documents and minor age differences are been hauled into police detention as directed by the committee and classified their credentials as "fake".
"How comes the kangaroo committee is able to detect fake results and documents without recourse to the issuing authorities and victims hauled into police custody with an express instructions from the Kogi police commissioner to detain those affected".
Okai Austin expressed dismay over the attitude of some members of the committee and state government/along with police commissioner for subjecting workers to untold hardship
He particularly faulted the inclusion of Hajiya ladi ibrahim and others planted by the kogi government to do the dirty job under the nomenclature of NGO and concerned citizens, saying they are on a pre-arranged assignment and not members of the bodies they claimed.
Okai Austin warned kogi police commissioner that it will mobilise kogi workers to protest against its action,if it does not desist from such action forthwith saying workers are entitled to their rights and privileges.
He berated the state government for been at the forefront of the whole drama to inflict more hardship on the workers, promising to mobilise and sensitise workers at all levels to resist all anomalies against them.
