Obaseki will win Edo Guber election - Priest predicted

Priests from communities in Edo South have endorsed the governorship candidate of the APC, Godwin Obaseki, ahead of the September 28 election in the state.

The priests predicted Obaseki’s victory at the poll, adding that he would do better than Governor Adams Oshiomhole in office.

The priests, under the umbrella of the Association of Igie-Ohen in Benin Kingdom, gave the endorsement, yesterday, in Benin, saying that Obaseki and his running-mate, Philip Shaibu, were perfect replacements for the incumbent governor and his deputy.

Speaking during a meeting called to endorse Obaseki, the secretary of the association, High Priest Osarumwense Amayo, praised the Obaseki and Shaibu combination as ideal for the state.

He said: “We, members of Igie-Ohen, have absolute confidence that Obaseki can equally achieve greatness to the level that you (Oshiomhole) achieved and even surpass.

“Sir, though we are not politicians, we are totally overwhelmed with the rate of development visible across the entire state. As for the election coming in a few days’ time, we want to assure you that all would be well.”

Responding, Governor Adams Oshiomhole commended the association for supporting the candidate of the APC.
