No inaugural speech from Buhari after taking oath of office
President Muhammadu Buhari did not deliver any speech after taking oath for another term on Wednesday.
Ibrahim Muhammad, acting chief justice of Nigeria, administered the oath of office on Buhari and Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo at the Eagle Square, Abuja.
Senate President Bukola Saraki; Yakubu Dogara, speaker of the house of representatives; Yakubu Gowon, former head of state, were among the dignitaries in attendance.
A copy of the programme seen by TheCable showed that the president was supposed to give his inaugural speech between 11am and 11:15am but no reason was given for the absence of the president’s speech at the programme.
