JUNGLE JUSTICE: Buhari's order got Nigerians talking, and it's not been good

As the build up to the postponed general elections continues, a lot has been happening as both PDP and APC have gone back to the drawing board to restrategize and counter each other's move that could directly or directly, affect the outcome of the coming elections.

While Mahmoud Yakubu is still facing the tough job of ensuring the coming elections are free, fair and credible, president Buhari on his part could only give an order to the military to shoot any ballot box snatcher caught on election day. But a section of Nigerians are unimpressed by the president's order saying there's more to it than an attempt to ensure a successful election.

Since Buhari's statement, opposition parties notably the People's Democratic Party, have since condemn the move by the president and Nigerians are worried that a democratically elected president would give such an order to carry out jungle justice when we have a judicial system in place. Worst of all, you know what would happen should electorates hear the sound of gunshots. Some were left amazed that Buhari has the power to give such orders with the military saying they are good to go, but the same president could not end insurgency and herdsmen terror?

Jp Cybridge, " Nobody is snatching any box. Nigerians have known better. We voted out Jonathan in 2015 because of Buhari's promise of change. Now that we have seen that Buhari has nothing to offer we'll vote him out. There's no need for empty threats. Let's try Atiku for the next four years, if he doesn't perform well, we'll again vote him out come 2023. Only a well performed president should be voted for second term.
