Shehu Sani dares El-Rufai, storms kaduna central market as traders chant 'Sai Shehu, Sai Shehu Sani, Sai Shehu Sani'
As the feud between the Kaduna state Governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai and Senator representing Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani continues to linker, the later yesterday threw a challenge at the governor to test his level of acceptability and popularity within his people by visiting the market to fraternize with the traders without a security guard.
Senator Sani who was unaided by armed security stormed the Kaduna main market after the challenge thrown on him by Governor Nasir El-Rufai to dare the market square if he thinks his popularity in the State, was welcome by thousands of supporters.
On his arrival at the Central Market, hundreds of market women and other traders abandoned their wares to welcome the Senator representing the zone amidst cheers, shouting “Sai Shehu, Sai Shehu Sani, Sai Shehu Sani”.
Sani who met the traders at selected stalls and shops to facilitate with them, in his Twitter account, also said”. I have responded to the challenge by Governor El-Rufai to visit the market without security escort”.
Senator Sani then threw back the challenge to El-Rufai to visit the market and test his own popularity.
Meanwhile, also speaking on the visit, the special adviser to the Senator on politics and strategy, Comrade Ahmed Suleiman said “the visit by Senator Shehu Sani to the Market to see traders is an annual event to him”.
“Any leader who is worth his office should also rise to the challenge and go to the market square unaided by security escort to test his popularity”, he added.
It would also be recalled that Governor El-Rufai on Monday dared Shehu Sani, to a popularity contest at the state’s Central Market.
The governor, who threw the challenge while addressing Journalists, said “Shehu Sani cannot even campaign in the market. I challenge him, let us go to Kaduna Central Market and let’s see who will come out unscathed “, he restated.
