Benue Massacre: Buhari never said IGP Idris disobeyed his order, says Adesina

President Muhammadu Buhari’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, in a chat with AIT Kakkaki Tuesday morning monitored by our correspondent, said that President Buhari never said IGP Idris disobeyed his order.

He accused the media of distorting what the president said while addressing stakeholders in the state.

"What i heard the president said was that he was not aware that the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, did not spend up to one day when he was asked him to relocate to Benue during the crisis in the state." He said

Recall that President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday expressed shock that he is not aware that the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, ignored his instruction to relocate to Benue State during the crisis in the state.

“But I did not know that the IG did not stay in the state. I am getting to know this at this meeting. I am quite surprised,” he said.
