The Member representing Ankpa, Olamaboro/Omala Federal Constituency of Kogi State in the House of Representatives, Hassan Omale, has said a former President, Olusegun Obasanjo, has no moral grounds to ask President Muhammadu Buhari not to seek re-election in 2019.
Omale, in interview yesterday, said the former president had no moral credential to denigrate President Buhari because he did not contribute to Buhari’s emergence as president in 2015; neither was he a member of APC to decide who the party would choose to contest in the 2019 general elections.
He maintained that ex-President Obasanjo spent eight years in office without laying a solid foundation for future democratic development, adding that Buhari had over the last two years been laying solid foundation for a corrupt-free society.
“Therefore, our party’s president deserves another four year-term to consolidate the good foundation he is laying for Nigeria. He will contest and win the 2019 election whether former President Obasanjo likes it or not,” he said.
