Nigerians could not have been celebrating Democracy Day had President Muhammadu Buhari not taken over the fight against Boko Haram in 2015, a member of the Board of Trustees of the APC, Chief Sam Nkire, said yesterday in Abuja.
Chief Nkire, who reviewed President Buhari’s performance in the last two years, said most parts of Nigeria could not have been as safe as they were today if not for Buhari’s heroic performance.
He said Boko Haram could have taken many more local governments, if not states, and could have hoisted their flags in Abuja by now had the APC not won the presidential election in 2015.
Therefore, the APC chieftain enjoined Nigerians to continue to pray for the quick recovery of President Buhari so that he would come back and redeem the promises made.
